Hot Pink Landing

Hot Pink Landing, originally uploaded by catmca.

Now that I have finally discovered Flickr, I keep talking about the thing. So: I thought I'd show blog readers why it's such a great photography site. This photo (above) just blows me away! Go ahead, click on it, and you'll get to go to this photographer's other work. There is GREAT nature photography on Flickr, hell, there is great photography of all types on that site. Not only can you save and share your own pics there, but you can see photographs like this one, and even get in touch with the people who take pictures like this. Amazing.

As for me, I drove some back roads of rural Missouri today with the dogs in the car, looking for something to shoot. Camera-shoot, of course. There were absolutely no birds anything like that amazing pink one, of course. I did see a gorgeous oriole, but he was 10 miles away by the time I had slowed down the car. Saw a beautiful cat, hunting in the roadside ditches, too; I stopped and got one picture of him, but of course the dogs started barking, and that was that. Riding around in a car with dogs is no way to do a photo shoot. I must remember that in the future.

Let's see if I can add the picture I took of that cat, here at the bottom of this post:

  1. Wow - thanks so much for blogging my photo! I, for one, LOVE your photo of the roadside cat. There is something about the direct stare of a cat. You just don't get looks like that from birds!

I vicariously enjoyed your drive in rural Missouri!
