technology transitions

The woes of tech stuff: A couple of days ago my internet service began to get squirrelly. It worked, then it didn't, then I re-set the modem and the router, and it worked, then it didn't... and re-setting, and phone calls to the tech people, more re-setting and re-booting... and at the same time, my PC computer began to develop its own woes, re-setting its own settings, refusing to keep the internet settings that would (sometimes) let me be connected... Much frustration. The internet cable people who were finally convinced that yes indeed it WAS their problem and not mine, will come out tomorrow. Meantime I made the great leap and went out and got a MacBook! I couldn't fix the cable thing myself, but one thing I could do was quit futzing around with the entire crazy world of the PC computer... the endless patching and fixing and scanning and re-booting and downloading updates...

So I have become a vagabond, going from coffee shop to library to another coffee shop with my new MacBook, getting myself adjusted to this new system. It's pretty fun and I am REALLY glad I bought it yesterday, because when I went past the Apple Store this morning, there was a line running outside the door and all down the block, waiting to get in. Somehow I managed to hit a slow point in the store, otherwise I would never have stuck it out...

So: Now I am becoming a MAC person! An entire personality re-boot is underway!
