The Wheel Inn is No More: Good-bye Goobergurgers

At the Lake of the Ozarks: Sadly, my friend Marietta could not join us at this event, so I am in a nice, big lakeside condo by myself tonight. Here are some photos from the trip, so far:

At the top: that's the old "Wheel Inn," in Sedalia, where a person could get a Gooberburger. Anyone who has driven from Kansas City to a meeting at the Lake of the Ozarks will recognize it.

Next photos: this condo is right on the water... makes a person think that maybe she really, really needs to get a boat. And a time-share. And all that... Anyway, it's a quiet evening, so far. A pair of mallards is strolling below my little balcony

Bottom photo: A sad story. The Wheel Inn really is no more; it is being torn down to support the widening of the road beside it. Here is how it looks, today. No Gooberburgers could be had.
