So, last night my friend Loretta and I went out to hear some live music; we started at BB’s Lawnside Barbecue, where D.C. Bellamy was playing. Wonderful music, but we were put off a bit when he made a tasteless joke about homeless people, so we wandered downtown to the Blue Note, and heard Ida McBeth… and finally, to balance the culture and ethnicity a bit, we finished the evening at Blayney’s in Westport, where a skinny white guy (whose name I never did learn) was playing guitar. It was a good time, the first time in a long time that I’ve done something so wild as to venture out to clubs (life’s been maybe just a bit too tame)!
It's spring, songbirds are back, I'm thinking it's time to put some air in my bicycle tires, get off the computer, and outside into the world a whole lot more.
