Could it be... a book?

I've been doing some work on organizing this blog, and this has included the process of tagging my old blog entries. In doing that, I couldn't help but realize that I have done quite a bit of writing on various topics... but especially about mindfulness (in mental health, and also in various wellness-related areas of human functioning). And, in addition to that, there are a lot of (oh, heavens, very disorganized) documents that I have generated for various settings in which I have taught mindfulness-related topics to graduate students. So, I wonder... could all of that be turned into a book? Today I spent much of the day at the computer, locating files, copying blog entries, and beginning to get all this mass of material just a little bit organized... or, at least, all thrown into the same document. With some headings, and stuff. It was pretty tiresome and mind-numbing, actually, and it was just a start, but it also feels good to be in the process of (maybe) putting some things together in a way that might be helpful to a broader audience. For example: the Mindfulness In Action Training (MIAT) that I created for the Avila University counseling practicum grad students was innovative, and successful. Who knows? Maybe others would be interested in implementing something similar. And, of course, the Mindfulness-Based Wellness program (MBW; Fall Semester '07, Avila University) was well received, and generated some really encouraging data. So I went to work, trying to get it all put together. As of the end of this work day, I have a really big (and kinda scary) Word document; we'll see where it goes, from here!

Poll results: It appears that (a) this blog attracts a significant number of Democrats (especially Obama supporters); and (b) many of y'all who read this blog are not much interested in the little polls I have created, so far. I must admit I am not shocked by the indications that lefty-types seem to predominate my readership. But I am not yet convinced that you are firmly committed to NOT participating in what I call my "little polls." Another one will appear, pretty soon. Maybe.
