I'm working on organizing photos; experimenting with keeping digital photos on the Picasa Web photo site. I hate to overwhelm my hard drive with photos, and it's hard to keep them organized on external storage (at least, I don't know how to do it). So, I'll see how it works to let them exist somehow in some (seems to me) abstract manner, somewhere far away.
The photo above was sent from reality (as my camera and I perceived it, anyhow), into my camera, to my old computer hard drive, to a CD, then into my new computer hard drive, then to Picasa web, and now (I think) to this blog. Somehow, to this old photographer, it feels terribly insecure. Yesterday I was thinking about some of my favorite memories, of learning to work in my high school darkroom, developing my own film, printing my own photos, cropping and dodging and burning in the exotic red light and quiet space of the little room off one of the science classrooms. I was thinking, hey maybe I'll look around for my old film SLR, and get some black and white film and start to actually take pictures again! Well, maybe I will.
The photo above was taken about a half a mile from my house, at the fountain in Meyer Circle, one of my favorite spots in Kansas City.

This makes me nostalgiac for the city of fountains! Lo
