Sad day (financially speaking!), in that my old (4 year old Toshiba) laptop at-home computer finally became pretty much unworkable, crashing all the time, and with not enough free space to get things compacted and de-fragged, no matter how much stuff I deleted. I've spent hours and hours of fiddling with it, the past few days, BUT today there's the back-to-school no-sales-tax deal for computers, so I drove on down to Costco and got a new Sony, and so far it's setting up OK. I'm not crazy about Windows Vista, nor about the new IE interface... but it will just have to be all right. And it's smaller, lighter, and a whole lot faster than my poor old hard-used Toshiba. It'll probably be a few more days before I have everything installed that needs to be installed, and back to frequent blogging.
