The images in the slideshow (just above) are a selection from my online gallery, Delany Dean Photography. If you'd like to see the images in full-screen mode, just roll your mouse over the slide show image, and click on the box on the lower-right corner.
I'd be delighted if you'd stop by my gallery, and look around.

The Mindfulness Room
Yesterday Dr. Maria Hunt and I met with an architect who will help us design the space we will be using for our mindfulness-based wellness program next year. We will be in a room that once was the sisters’ dining room on Avila campus. It’s in Foyle Hall (formerly the convent). We knocked out a couple of walls to give us more space, but it still isn’t really very large, and there is a load-bearing column that sits nearly smack in the middle of the room… The demolition work is nearly done; now, there are the challenges in making it attractive and well-suited for our practices (meditation practice; yoga; tai chi; lectures and group discussions).
We will have stackable chairs; cushions and mats for meditation practice; and a nice audio/visual system. We are working on an appropriate and attractive carpet and paint scheme. Also, there are three (small) windows that need some kind of blinds (bamboo?). Maybe a fountain, mounted onto the load-bearing column? And, how about art work? Accent pieces? Not much time, and a lot of work is yet to be done! It's pretty exciting to see this thing coming into being...
